Boon (formerly Swajal) is one of India's largest water-tech firms, dedicated to making water better and more accessible to all. From Zero Mile Water to bringing water ATMs to big, small, and all parts of India, Boon has been committed to providing clean drinking water to millions of Indians every day. Boon approached us with the intention of changing their name, narrative, and visual identity, with the goal of creating a cohesive brand.
Re-imagining water’s playbook for the world
Water is nature’s blessing to life. It’s a boon to the world. It felt most appropriate to rename and celebrate Swajal’s journey as Boon. Transformative but deeply rooted, Boon needed an identity that was energetic and aspirational, like clean water itself. Dots symbolise the inception of life. These dots connected through a network of lines that stood for the power of flowing water, gave birth to a unique design system for Boon. Orange for the dots and blue for flowing lines, both drawn from natures’ palette, breathed life into the design. At the core of this identity was born a logo from the synergy of water and life, forming a cohesive design system.
Our water, our way.
A functional, flexible design language, firmly rooted in the design DNA, ensured its adaptability across various brand touchpoints. Everything from technically advanced machines to reusable glass bottles effortlessly sported the key elements of the Boon design system. It brought consistency in the brand, making it easily identifiable. A visual flow was created to bring visual fluidity across all brand elements.
Changing the water-tech conversation, with clarity and design.
